Phamily Hair Care, initially launched as Photogenic Hair Care in 2017 by Emery M. McClendon, Esq., marked a significant career shift from his role at a renowned international litigation law firm in San Diego, specializing in complex antitrust litigation and class actions. With an impressive educational background that includes five degrees—two master's and a doctorate—Emery embraced entrepreneurship with the same rigor he applied in legal practice.

The inspiration for Emery's venture into hair care stemmed from both personal necessity and a spirit of innovation. Growing up with homemade hair grease crafted by his grandmother showed him its potential for hair growth, yet it fell short in managing his thick, coarse 4C hair. After later experiencing significant thinning at his hairline and crown, Emery was driven to create a product that not only promoted hair growth but also enhanced manageability across all hair types. This invention proved to be a resounding success.

Our Evolution
Despite its humble beginnings, with less than $1,000 in sales in its first month, Emery’s all-in-one hair care solution swiftly demonstrated its value. By its first full year, Photogenic Hair Care achieved over a million dollars in annual sales, sold exclusively through its website—thanks to exceptional customer support and the product’s undeniable effectiveness. In 2021, to reflect a more inclusive vision, the brand transitioned to Phamily Hair Care. We now proudly serve over 50,000 delighted customers, many of whom are long-term, repeat buyers.
